GOTV: How to get your voters to the polls

GOTV is short for “get out the vote.” Before an election, campaigns send out volunteers to remind people to get to the polls on Election Day. In today’s age of mail voting, and numerous other ways to vote early GOTV has stretched from a few days to a few weeks, and it has become even more difficult, and important. It’s one of the most important tactics in any campaign, so here are some tips on how you can make your GOTV efforts effective.

Texting Voters

You may have heard that phone calls are a better way to get your voters to the polls, but no one answers phone calls anymore. You can use peer-to-peer text messages to target specific groups of people and send them reminders leading up to the election. Texting is great for GOTV because it is inexpensive, you can reach a lot of people quickly, and open rates are high!
